Reading Matters: Add these to your summer list
Margi Preus’s burgeoning series promises to satisfy the cravings of young “whodunit” fans. Full of suspense and danger, but never graphic, the Enchantment Lake murder mysteries are reminiscent of publisher Edward L. Stratemeyer’s prolific children’s books of the early 20th century. Middle schoolers looking for worthwhile summer reading should add these two titles to their list.
Allotment Stories: Daniel Heath Justice and Jean M. O'Brien.
Saving Animals: Elan Abrell and Kathryn (Katie) Gillespie on sanctuary, care, ethics.
Making creative laborers for a precarious economy: Josef Nguyen, Carly Kocurek, and Patrick LeMieux.
