“The mother’s around here somewhere,” he says, searching the tops of the tall trees that grow on Pine Point, his 12 acres of red and white pines outside Sartell, Minn.
He doesn’t want to get too near the week-old baby with the fierce gray beak, but he’s worried it might not survive the cold night where cats and foxes roam.
