Personality Assessment in Personal Injury Litigation.(from the chapter) This chapter focuses on personality assessment issues in personal injury litigation. Topics include the appropriate background for personal injury case expertise, psychological issues in personal injury claims using the MMPI-2, and factors to consider when conducting personality assessment with the MMPI-2. A case example is presented to illustrate the value of obtaining mental health records for problems that actually occurred before the accident in question. Other topics discussed include the assessment of malingering, the Fake Bad Scale, the effects of litigation on the claimant, and nonstandard interpretive strategies.
