The relation between intelligence and MMPI scoresFor 48 undergraduates with an I.Q. range of 100 to 131, the following significant correlations between I.Q. and Minnesota Multiphasic scores were obtained. I.Q. and hypochondriasis,–.60; I.Q. and hysteria,–.65; I.Q. and psychopathic deviation,–.57. It is suggested that very superior intelligence functions as a limiting value in symptom elaboration and in the expression of maladjustment on the personality inventory.
