Adrienne Kennedy among 2018 Theater Hall of Fame Inductees
The 48th Annual Theater Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in the American Theater will be presented on Mon Nov 12 at the Gershwin.
Sep 18, 2018The Theater Hall of Fame has announced the 2018 Inductees: Actors Rene Auberjonais, Christine Baranski, Cicely Tyson, playwrights Maria Irene Fornes, David Henry Hwang, Adrienne Kennedy, director Joe Mantello, and posthumously James Houghton.
The 48th Annual Theater Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in the American Theater will be presented on Monday, Nov. 12 at the Gershwin. Dana Ivey, will be the Mistress of Ceremonies.
The Theater Hall of Fame was created in 1970 at the Gershwin Theatre by James M. Nederlander and Earl Blackwell. To be eligible for nomination, the theater professional must have, at least, 25 years in the Broadway Theater, 5 major productions, or a leader of Off Broadway or Regional Theater pioneer. The annual voters are the Theater Hall of Fame members and 250 theater critics across the United States. Over forty nominees in ten categories are listed on the ballot each year.
