Women's Words: Mary Casanova

Here is an excerpt from her book Frozen, the story of a young woman’s struggle to regain both her physical and spiritual voice. Mary Casanova is the author of more than thirty books for young readers, ranging from picture books to historical fiction and young adult novels. Her books frequently land on state reading lists and have earned many awards, including the ALA "Notable," Aesop Accolades by the American Folklore Society, Parent's Choice "Gold" Award, Booklist Editor's Choice, and two Minnesota Book Awards. She lives in northern Minnesota near the Canadian border with her husband, three horses, and three dogs.
