Review of 'What She Said' at Effjay Projekts

Art exhibit includes a project by Jennifer Johung (REPLACING HOME).

Johung_replacing cover“Jennifer Johung Arms Outstretched” by Kaminski greets the viewer upon entry into Effjay Projekts, a gallery space owned by Frank Juarez, poetically positioned in a former church basement. A portrait of Johung wearing a frilly mini-dress and standing atop a rock on a frigid shoreline initially reads like a fashion photograph: a gorgeous under dressed model forced to sustain an unlikely pose in extreme elements. Instead this image is meant to speak to the impermanence of home for today’s woman.
