Pioneer Press: Landvik's latest set at Hollywood's Peyton Hall

Interview with Lorna Landvik on her new book BEST TO LAUGH.

"I still dream about Peyton Hall four or five times a year," Lorna Landvik says.

Minnesotans know Landvik as the author of eight novels, including "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons," as a comedian, actress and effervescent host of her annual Party in the Rec Room at Bryant-Lake Bowl. When she hosted the Minnesota Book Awards, blowing party horns and making the audience laugh by suggesting a drinking game, many thought she was the gala's best-ever master of ceremonies.

But before Landvik settled into this multi-faceted career, she lived in a famed Hollywood Boulevard apartment complex called Peyton Hall while she was honing her comedy chops in Los Angeles in the late 1970s and early '80s.

Peyton Hall was a relic of Hollywood's golden days.
