Manual for Administration, Scoring, and Interpretation

This manual will provide information on recommended practices for administration, scoring, and interpretation of the MMPI-2-RF. Reliability estimates and standard errors of measurement will be reported as well. These data indicate that the MMPI-2-RF scale reliabilities are comparable to those of the MMPI-2 and other commonly used self-report measures of psychopathology and personality.

Technical Manual

The manual will report in detail empirical correlates of the MMPI-2-RF scales in a variety of settings: mental health inpatient and outpatient, substance abuse treatment, criminal court proceedings, personal injury and disability evaluations, and various non-clinical samples. Correlates will be based on clinician ratings, chart data, and a variety of self-report measures. The manual will provide descriptive data (means and standard deviations) for these samples as well as for individuals tested in correctional and medical settings, and candidates for public safety positions. These data will allow users to compare a test-taker's scores with those of others tested in similar settings.

The correlates reported in the manual provide evidence supporting the validity of the substantive scales in a variety of settings. A growing body of research documents the criterion and construct validity of the RC Scales. The technical manual will also provide information on the development of the MMPI-2-RF scales.

Hand Scoring Materials

These materials will include answer keys, answer sheets, and profile forms.

Score Report

The report will provide scores on all the RF scales. In addition, the Score Report will list unscorable item responses, items answered in the keyed direction on elevated validity scales, and items answered in the keyed direction on elevated critical scales (substantive scales that identify problems requiring immediate attention, e.g., suicidal ideation). Users have the option of plotting a test-taker's profile and a comparative profile plotting the range of expected scores based on the setting-specific scale means and standard deviations reported in the Technical Manual.

Interpretive Report

The MMPI-2-RF Interpretive Report will provide a narrative interpretation in addition to the information in the Score Report. Two versions of the report will be offered, one annotated (identifying sources of the interpretive statements and providing citations to relevant publications), the other not.
