Psychological Testing in Pre-Employment Screening and Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations
of Public Safety Employees
(Thursday and Friday, October 8 - 9)

This workshop will provide information on the latest trends and significant issues in pre-employment screening and fitness-for-duty evaluations. It is designed as an intermediate level workshop designed for individuals familiar with basic psychological assessment principles and psychometrics and who have a basic familiarity with the MMPI-2. Attendance is required on both days.

– Understand legal issues and considerations involved in pre-employment testing
– Understand the differences between pre-offer testing versus post-offer testing
– Apply professional guidelines relevant to pre-employment screening of public safety personnel
– Select the appropriate test/s to address job analysis for pre-employment evaluations
– Understand how psychological tests can aid the examiner in making fitness determinations
