“For those on your gift list needing an antidote to the snow-covered tundra outside their window, there’s the new and improved third edition of Wildflowers of the Northern Great Plains. With a new section devoted to grasses, sedges, and rushes, this compact volume offers nearly 750 color photos and fairly smells of springtime.” Mpls.St. Paul Magazine

The authors manage to present a useful guide for identifying many representative plant species of the northern Great Plain. The photographs are striking, a testimony to the perseverance of Vance and the other contributors. It is well worth the price.
