Dr. Abrahamsen was director of the Purchasing Division, Farmer Cooperative Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. He taught agricultural cooperation at both West Virginia University and North Carolina State College.

Dr. Scroggs was a professor of agricultural economics at the University of Tennessee and was formerly with the Farmer Cooperative Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
